... sounds so familiar to me ....

My wife's grandmother, who contributed valuable lessons about software development, decided a week ago, that she had enough. She has seen the turn of two centuries and was propelled from rural Malaysia at the beginning of last century into High Tech Singapore of today. Last week she said to us, it's time for here to go and last night she passed away. Just fell asleep for the long one with a very peaceful smile on her face.
I'll miss her lessons.

Rob posted a question a while ago on Notes Net and his own Blog: How can one overcome the forced rendering of iNotes in an iNotes enabled mailbox. Rob and I faced the same problem: mobile light email. A little background: Both iNotes and Notes web access heavily rely on full fledged browser features: High Power JavaScript for iNotes, Java applets for Notes web access.
The browser on the Tungsten or Treo doesn't provide that, so end of story? The conclusion is: create a view with a form formula (if you are not a Notes/Domino developer: stop reading, it is tech talk) and a light form that does display exactly what you want. The only thing: iNotes ignores it! After researching for a while I found, that you simply need to tell iNotes: HANDS OFF! To do so add &ui=webmail at the end of your url: http://myserver/mymaildb.nsf/lightwebmail/$first?openDocument&ui=webmail

I have to plead guilty as charged when it comes to the question: Are your kids watching too much TV? Anthony and Ernest have their daily dose of Playhouse Disney, Kids Central and Discovery channel. Last week Ernest was diagnosed with Myopia (short sightedness). Myopia is epidemic here in Singapore (too much books too little play outside?).This was a wake-up call to follow my own ideas about too much TV.
Tonight, when the twins return from school, the TV will be gone and we will test for about two weeks the impact of the TV free environment. I know I'll miss my Startreck rerun <g>. If it works out both our local cable operator as well as the TV shop will loose a customer.

My domain in Domino development, so I never paid much attention to the Domino Administrator client. So from time to time I have to learn a new trick there. When looking at the files tab you usually see a tree on the left and the files on the right. There is a dropdown where you can select the type of files you want to see: . What if found out (OK I never bothered to read the manual), is that you actually can click on the "All" button right of the dropdown and switch to a flat view of all files (I always thought this is a filter function and never tried it before). The button then changes to this: [IMAGE] so you can switch back to the tree style display. This comes in very handy when you want to operate on all files.

I discovered one serious bug there (maybe it is already documented, so the discovery would be for myself only): In tree view subfolders of directory links do not show! We use a lot of directory links (one for each customer), so it's kind of weird. So files that are inside subdirectories of linked directories do not show in the Admin either.... unless you switch to All view, then they are neatly listed.
